MTI offers a training program for healthcare related occupations. All glass doors and windows are rated for hurricane winds up to 130 MPH. The two-story structure is constructed of masonry with bar joist and a metal pan deck, and will also serve as a hurricane shelter. A large electrical transfer switch allows a generator to be hooked up to supply independent power when needed. Training equipment for the nursing, dental and paramedic programs includes specialized dental equipment, and a "patient simulator" that simulates many illnesses and trauma events for paramedic training.
